WHY INSPECTION

A home inspection is an examination of the condition of a property. It usually takes place in connection with the property's sale, but our concept is to integrate partial inspections throughout every single service we provide in FORLIFE Home Improvement.

THERMAL IMAGING INSPECTION

Because We inspect in depth and go behind the walls , we use a Higher resolution 320 x 240 IR infrared thermal Imaging for heat loss spots and leakage areas. This powerful and non-invasive technique helps us monitoring and diagnosing the condition of your house and prioritize the actions.

The strength of our concept is having an Inspection involved throught all our services.

WHAT DOES INSPECTION BRING TO YOUR PROJECT

It has been recognized in the tradesmen world, that the expertise alone is not enough to call it a success, unless honesty is on the top of the priorities. At FORLIFE HOME IMPROVEMENT, we strive for this value. We oversee and inspect constantly the work of our installers and our customers homes all year around, and even after the warranty period. Not all home owners are experts and that is why we are committed to providing them a worry free service with experienced trades people.

A home inspection is an examination of the condition of a property. It usually takes place in connection with the property's sale, but our concept is to integrate partial inspections throughout every single service we provide in FORLIFE Home Improvement. A qualified home inspector assesses the condition of your home in a courtesy way before he goes through details for the service you called us for.

Our qualified Home Inspector will follow through

Our Home Inspector will be there to supervise home improvement services provided, to make sure work meets rules and standards.
He will get the chance to highlight any visible flaws and defects that might affect your house waterproofness and drainage system, exterior parts of your foundation walls, and any external structural issues, furthermore , if we are managing any interior works for you , many systems can be looked and checked out on the spot , and of course at no charge.

Goal : IThe goal of our inspection is to evaluate the function of the components, rather than the appearance. we focus on the ability of each component to perform its intended task.

Inspect : Most standards are clear on the meaning of inspect. When we inspect we have to look at and test the components listed in the applicable standards. We look at them if they are readily.

Testing : We test components and systems by using their normal operating controls, but not the safety controls. We open and close doors and windows, turn light switches and water faucets on and off, flush toilets, etc. We do not test heating systems on high limit switches, test pressure relief valves on water heaters and boilers, overload electrical circuits to trip breakers, etc.
Again our inspection is non-intrusive and non-destructive and is meant to guarantee our services we provide comply to standards.

Accessible : We inspect house components that are readily accessible. That means we don’t move furniture, lift carpets or ceiling tiles, dismantle components, damage things or do something dangerous. The exception is covers that would normally be removed by homeowners during routine maintenance.

Installed : We inspect things that are installed in homes. We may offer courtesy inspection if we are about to set up a Renovation plan but will only focus on installed components and systems.

Deficiencies : We report verbally on systems that are significantly deficient. This means they are unsafe or not performing their intended function.

End Of Life : We report on any system or component that in our professional opinion is near the end of its service life. This is tricky since we don’t want to be held accountable for failed components on the basis that we should have known the component was near the end of its life. With the wisdom of hindsight, it may be hard to argue that the component could not have been expected to fail, when in fact, it did. Time will tell. The situation is also tricky because it includes not only systems but individual components as well. For many systems there are broadly accepted life expectancy ranges, but these aren’t available for some individual components.

Remaining Life : We do not determine the remaining life of systems or components. This is related to, but different from, the end of service life issue. If the item is new or in the middle part of its life, we don’t predict service life, even though the same broadly accepted life expectancy ranges would apply. It’s only when the item is near the end, in your opinion, that you report it.

Walls, Ceilings And Floors : Most Interior standards are a little tricky. We don’t have to inspect interior finishes, but we do have to inspect walls, ceilings and floors if we are upgrading them or intervene on them. Our interpretation is that we have to inspect these things from the standpoint of performance and function. We have to ensure that walls, ceilings and floors can support themselves and their intended loads, remaining intact under normal conditions.

THERMAL IMAGING INSPECTION IN OTTAWA AREA

In your roof , water will typically give up its heat at a slower rate than the surrounding roofing materials because of its high thermal capacity, and that’s how we can detect which area has accumulated moisture.

This is best accurate when the temperature outside begins to fall. The roofing materials will have released their heat showing up the difference emissivity value.

The purpose of our thermal imaging is to give actionable information to our customers in order to proceed with necessary repairs. An infrared thermal inspection can identify moisture intrusion, heat /energy loss, and even unexpected hot spots in any limited area in your house.
